What I think, Troubles

I found that Labels were very easy to do and quite handy. Links aren't actually hard, they are just not the most natural feature on digital composition. you know? If someone else is doing this project, I suggest you choose a topic a lot less political than abortion because it wasn't a fun time. Sure, finding things on the topic was very easy, but no one is really a stakeholder except women and politicians (the church included). And it's really difficult because it's hard to use "women" as a stakeholder because it's really just a matter of opinion. If you are going to do a topic as broad as abortion, I strongly suggest you narrow it down to a place where you have definite stakeholders you can pin point.
Writing in a blog was a lot different from a traditional paper, because it feels a lot more conversational, like I'm actually talking to someone else. You know? Well, It's been a fun time!

Me Final

So, I guess it's my turn to tell you my stake in this..... Well, I am actually very opinionated when it comes to the topic of abortion. I don't think abortion is wrong.........in all cases. I am completely 100% against the use of abortion as a form of contraception because that is just wrong. If you can't handle having a baby, then sweetie, you shouldn't handle having sex. There are, however some rare cases when abortion is acceptable in my opinion. An abortion is only acceptable when the mother's physical or mental health is highly at risk. For example, if you're pregnant and you're baby is killing you, like if having this baby WILL kill you, I think it would be acceptable to have an abortion. I also believe that an abortion is also acceptable when the mother has been raped. Imagine waking up every morning and feeling like a big bad monster is growing inside of you, It could make a woman extremely emotionally fragile and susceptible to crazy actions. Another thing is, if an abortion is had to save a child from a short miserable life, then I think it's an act of mercy. Like if you know that your baby will have a debilitating disease that will never allow him/her to ever truly live, (like tay-sachs) then maybe it's also acceptable. This is just where I stand.

Death Roe Final

"On January 22, 1973, The United States Supreme Court legalized abortion on demand. The decision is called Roe vs. Wade. We call it Death Roe"
My final stakeholder is "deathroe". They believe that abortion is murder also, but they are a lot less drastic in the way they profess this. This stakeholder is very similar to my last one, they just differ in their core beliefs. Prochoice America believes that abortion is acceptable in times of rape, incest of trauma, Death Roe acknowledges that, but they believe that the mother's crappy circumstance is no fault of the baby, so the baby should not be punished.
This stakeholder is also very much against the use of abortion as a form of contraception. They also provide safer and healthier alternatives to abortion. They go very in-depth into the adoption option for people thinking about aborting. I think this was one of the most interesting stakeholders i looked at. I liked their position, and I strongly believe that they are worth looking into.

Pro-choice America Final

The problem
Anti-choice people want to outlaw abortion, regardless of the woman's situation. They will stop at nothing to make it harder for women to access abortion. They even target the doctors who provide abortion care.-pro choice America

So, this stakeholder is very focused on safe sex more than they are on abortion. They believe that prevention is better than abortion, but they also recognize that different women are all different situations. Like rape, and incest, and life endangerment. They believe that pro-life activists just want a ban on abortion, no questions about it, and they would go to violent lengths to make this happen. Basically, they believe in the safety of the mental and physical health of a woman. If that makes sense.

They also promote the safe use of contraceptives. Like birth control pills, and pregnancy prevention pills. Most pro-life associations don't believe in the use of condoms and contraceptives because they also believe that it's murder to do so. What I liked about this stakeholder is that they aren't extremist in their pro-life stand. They acknowledge that the Pro-lifers might have a valid point. They don't dispute any of it, but their stand is the safety of the mother is sometimes more important.

Life dynamics Final

We are not at the same place we were in 1973. This country today is drifting, moving steadily towards the pro-life position because the data is with us.
Randall Terry

So, I don't really know how to start this post, so it might be a little testy until I catch the drift of what I'm really trying to say. Well, my second stakeholder is really interesting because they are very different from my first and some of the things that are said on the sight makes me raise my brow. So basically, this is their stand, "ABORTION IS BAD. ABORTION SHOULDN'T BE LEGAL. Pretty strong stand, yes? Or maybe not. I'm not here to judge. I'm here to report. One of the things that jumped out at me is that it had a racism and abortion link and it took me to a link that was like "a black baby is 3 times more likely to be aborted than a white baby" and random facts like that and it got me thinking and questioning "Why does THAT make a difference? How does that fact really help the pro-life movement?" You know? And so I was wondering "why is this site picking on a specific racial group? Is it implying that in some way African Americans somehow have less morals and are more susceptible to the 'heinous' act of abortion?" It goes on to compare African Americans to the KKK and it seems to me that this stakeholder isn't too concerned about who is trampled on the way to getting their point across.
This stakeholder has a section called the "Blackmun wall" and it is dedicated to women who have been killed from abortions. My first thought was "that's really sad", but then i thought about it and I realized that the argument is irrelevant because with every operation there is always a risk of mortality. I mean, if we are going to look at the number of women who have died due to abortion, we would also have to look at the number of women who have died during childbirth within the same time period. It also seems to me that this stakeholder builds a lot of it's credibility by tearing down others. Like, they don't have enough backbone to build their own credibility. You know? and I find it really weird because their attack on pro-choice organizations is very aggressive and a little vicious. It also focuses all it's energy on stopping abortion, but not on giving other "healthier" alternatives to abortion and I feel like that's what a good pro-life organization should do. Not just senselessly attack every organization that has beliefs that are against their own. You know what I mean?

Well, I know that it probably seems like I have a very biased point of view, but I promise, I'm not biased, I just happened to realize that I really dislike this stakeholder. I didn't really realize it until I started writing this post. Oh well.

Hope this leaves you with a few things to think about.

Love and Peace Cynthia :)

Children by Choice

"When you peel back the layers of the anti-choice motivation, it always comes back to two things: What is the nature and purpose of human sexuality? And second, what is the role of women in the world?" Sex and the role of women are inextricably linked, because "if you can separate sex from procreation, you have given women the ability to participate in society on an equal basis with men."   Gloria Feldt, the former president of Planned Parenthood

With my very first stakeholder, the thing that stood out the most for me was the fact that it has a "men and unplanned pregnancy section.". This really struck me as odd because I feel like no one ever thinks of the men. you know? Obviously, being pregnant and having an abortion obviously affects women, but no one ever asks "How does this affect the man?" It just isn't very important. and men very often fade into the background when it comes to things concerning pregnancy and abortion. This brings up the question "How do men generally feel about issues like abortion, and how does this affect them?" because let's face it, just because men don't have the right reproductive parts, and aren't able to nurture a baby for 40 weeks doesn't mean that their opinions and how they are affected aren't important. Well, to be honest, this site doesn't answer a lot of these questions, but it does, however, explain the actions men can take in order to be supportive and make the process easier for the woman in question.
One of the biggest misconceptions people make about pro-choice organizations is that "pro-choice is synonymous to "pro-abortion" which isn't necessarily true. The word "choice" involves a lot more than abortion. Abortion just happens to be one of them. When a woman is faced with an unplanned pregnancy, she has other options like adoption, or parenting. I know, you're probably wondering "how is this different from a pro-life organization?' well, that is a good question. I think for this stakeholder, the biggest difference is simply the most obvious one. ABORTION IS AN ACCEPTABLE OPTION. Something about this honestly bothers me a little bit because it's like "should abortion really always be an option?" This site kind of makes abortion seem like an acceptable form of contraception. Like an "Oh crap! I'm pregnant. Maybe I should get rid of it" sort of deal., Like it's a very offhand decision to make. You know?

Well, hope this leaves you with a bit to think about. Thanks for reading!

Children By Choice. 2012. Children by choice. Loudbox Media.  Web. 8 Apr. 2012
This website is actually a pro-choice site, and I don't want to get into what they believe in right now, because I want to save that for the actual post.

Life Dynamics. pro-life. Life dynamics. Web. 8 Apr. 2012
This site claims that there is a lot people don't know about abortion and it pulls out some statistics and things you couldn't possibly link to abortion.

Naral. 2012. Convio. Pro-choice America. Web. 8 Apr, 2012
This is another pro-choice site with slightly different values from the first. The values vary quite a bit, and I will discuss this later in my blog.

Death Roe.com. Life Talk. Death Roe. Web. 8 Apr. 2012
This site marks the Roe vs Wade era as "death roe" because it is the beginning of the series of murders committed against unborn babies in the united states.
